Gyantze Transportation
The external communication is mainly by road. Gyantse is an important economic center at the intersection of Lhasa-Yadong road, Shigatse-Yadong road and Shigatse-Gyantse Road.
It is 260km far from Lhasa to the east, 223km to the Tibet’s biggest airport-Gongga Airport, 215km to Yakang. Obviously, Gyantse is the important transport hub, and tightly connect Lhasa, Shigatse, Yadong three different economic regions. The mobile personnel are many, and the trade is active. Gyantse to Shigatse's vehicles are from 8 am to 7pm in turns. From Shigatse to Gyantse, it will take you around 1.5 hours’ driving. Usually you will share the private Sangtana with others (4pax/car) and cost around 25 yuan / person. Most of the road is smooth asphalt road, but the last 15 minutes of the road is very bumpy with sand and stones.
